This article by Barry Rubin explains why the Annapolis peace process might do more harm to U.S. interests than good. He raises good points. I still think the U.S. is going about this simply for good PR, like I said in an earlier post. It reminds me of this Ethiopian Jew in Israel with whom I was friendly. Whenever we’d see greet each other he’d say, “Peace,” and then pause and add, “Process!” |

hey - nice blog. but you've spelt 'dirty' wrong in the title of your blog :)
Holy shit -- thanks for pointing that out. Funny how you can read and reread something and miss a typo in the headline no less.
The thing so many either fail to realize, or willfully ignore, is the fact that Hamas will never acknowlege Israels rite to exist, nor will, I think, Abbas. I think Abbas will do the same thing Arafat did. Say one thing in english, and another in Arabic. Any peace conference not initiated by the Arab street will fail. Rockets will be flying into Israel from Gaza and the West Bank before the ink is dry. Also, if the give up the Golan, I hope they planted a few nukes deep under ground, so they can blow the heights up when they are attacked from them. Is Olmert trying to kill Israel?

But that would contaminate all of northern Israel. Israel won't give up the Golan unless a third party makes sure it is demilitarized.
They likely have low yield nukes that wouldn't. As for 3rd party, who? Not the UN. We've seen how well they 'held back' Hama and Hezbollah in Lebannon.
